Dr. Erick Hess
Dr. Erick Hess is the owner of Ark Animal Clinic. Dr. Hess grew up in Hedgesville and graduated from Hedgesville High School. He graduated from West Virginia University in 1993 and Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. He has a special interest in internal medicine and feline medicine. He also does some equine work on the side. Dr. Hess lives in Hedgesville with his wife Jenny, who is also the office manager of Ark, his daughters Katie and Haley, two horses, eight cats, and two goats. He spends his free time working on his model trains, reading, and target shooting.
Dr. Anthony Flores
Dr. Anthony Flores grew up in Lisbon, CT and graduated from the University of Connecticut College of Agriculture and Natural Resources earning a Bachelor of Science degree in pathobiology (pre-vet) in 1988. He received his DVM from Cornell University in 1994 and practiced general small animal medicine in CT. In 2006 he received his Doctor of Philosophy in pharmacology & Toxicology from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy with a heavy emphasis on molecular pharmacology and molecular biology. He has consulted for a company working on a synthetic blood substitute for human and veterinary use. Dr. Flores has a special place in his heart for Bloodhounds, having had two spanning a 20 year period. He also has a foundness for French Bulldogs which he affectionately refers to as "Stubbies". His hobbies are road cycling and cars.
Dr. Nikki Piper
Dr. Nikki Piper grew up in Georgetown, PA and most recently hails from Sidney, MT. She graduated from The Ohio State University with an Animal Science Degree in 2011. She earned her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Since graduating she has been practicing mixed animal general medicine in Montana. Nikki is especially interested in feline and bovine medicine. Nikki lives with her husband Brad and daughter Laekyn. She also has 2 cats, Siren and Midge, and 1 Corgi-Aussie Mix, Arlee. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, reading and working with cattle.
